  • That looks absolutely spectacular, definitely a show piece for years to come! How are the thermals? :P

    • He's done an amazing job no question, however the PS5 shape is super ugly, so still not the biggest fan.

    • doesnt work anymore lol

    • Should have added liquid cooling. Sure it's pretty, but if there's no functional improvements it's kinda just opulent.

    • @Noah my bad.. I thought you were responding to the comment above yours…

    • @Hermes. Why is this in a question about thermals? "Look at me" sigh

  • That bending of the side panels is so subtle and precise. It's amazing what you achieved with BRASS at home, without industrial presses and ovens. Hats off.

  • I know this is a little after the fact (just recently found your channel and I'm binging the videos lol) but I'd love to see this PS5 with some internal LEDs! I think having that glow coming out of the gaps between the brass would look really pretty.

  • The sheer level of finesse of this video is just amazing. What a great video. 🔥

  • Brother Matt , I must say you've got a very special and positive energy about you man. Really likable , can feel your personality through the video. This craftsmanship is actually amazing . This video and your recent one of the wood x Carbon fiber PS5 are just insane bro. I'd love to pay you to come and customize my PS5 too haha. I'm in the UK . Godspeed

    • Agree 😃his delivery as a whole is very pleasant. The ps5 looks sooooooooo goooood 🤩

  • LTT with the gold Xbox controller and now you're bringing us the brass PS5 👍 Both are a little crazy but the process is great to watch.

    • @RE:KON Meh, opinion is like an asshole. Everyone has it's own :-P

    • @RE:KON User preference, i'd prefer if the OG was matte black.

    • Not gonna like brass ps5 looks better than ltt controller and linus's wife wouldn't get it remelted

    • @Super Hiro Why?

  • How would this effect the function of the ps5? Like would heating change? I’m curious, but it looks real nice.

  • i appreciate you showing the failures, it keeps the reality apparent that this isnt easy to do.

  • Would be very interested to see how oxidised and tarnished this ends up looking. Unless you’re willing to polish it every few weeks.

  • Absolutely stunning. Human creativity and ingenuity never ceases to amaze me.

  • Wow, amazing craftsmanship!

    • Yea

    • And you like his

    • Love your vids

    • One legend to another! Fan of both you guys!!

    • didn‘t expect you to be here, like your videos alot!

  • A true work of art. Waiting for you to give us more stuff to see since the last one is two months old already. Hope you're well!

  • The true beauty of this metal can not be catched by the eye of an camera, but this is some serious precious art you have created!

  • For some reason I’m late to the party but I’ve loved all the brass projects you have done so far and will be considering some to do on my own. Thanks for all the great uploads and ideas!

  • Exceptional craftsmanship. I applaud you efforts and hope this inspires others to think outside the box. Now that your tooling is established, you could make additional plates to create truly unique iterations. Nickel plating the brass plates (then polishing the nickel) while leaving the center piece brass creates a silver and gold aesthetic. Using a patina agent, such as liver of sulfur, will blacken brass to your desired effect. Using tape to mask off the Playstation symbol prior to applying the patina agent would result in a contrasting black and gold effect as well. The possibilities are endless. I'll definitely check out your other videos. Keep up the exceptional work.

  • dude... I liked the video immediately and yes I would love to see what the polar opposite of this looks like! Can't wait 😉

    • Just apply the torch to the exterior enough to char the plastic.. Let it burn through in a few spots - easy.

    • @HEAD OR GUT A wood PS5 is something definitely worth scalper price.

    • I'm thinking an Adam Savage rusty venture. Iron asymmetrical mad max with serious rust exposed wire, haphazardly bolted together panels, improvised cooling, literal exhaust muffler

    • Wood definitely

    • Wood cover would be sweet! Lots of making options too - steam bending, lamination, CNC carving on solid wood... Bamboo for a tiki-hut look... Very cool build! I would not have expected the brass to sag so much, but have had my share of mold containment problems. Next challenge - how to keep fingerprints from the power switch?

  • It's beautiful really yet I do have a question, what about brass conductivity? Isn't that risky when the environment is highly wet?

  • I think staining or giving the center cover some colour would make it even more better ( kind of like how titanium items can have a purple/blue/pink kind of colour by heating or some chemicals).

  • Wow, I never even expected, that there is someone, who would or could do this. Amazing work. Like it!

  • I really liked the project, visually it is amazing, but I have some issues to note like for example: * the metallic shell could not cause static/electrical discharge from the environment (metal is obviously more conductive than plastic). * the metal could not increase the console temperature (the metal transfers heat more easily from the inside to the outside but also from the outside to the inside, which can cause the "stove" effect) * the PS5 board is close or even touches the plastic parts, here in the matter of plastic it wouldn't be a problem but in metal it would be a catastrophe. I would choose to use a plastic inner layer inside of shell to avoid potential problem and maybe add some "static electricity" protection system for warranty. congratulations for the wonderful content, your work is a great incentive for the "makers" community👍

  • The hardest part of this whole project is actually buying a PS5

    • @Gil las I got one ps5 how the heck do you have 16 ps5s

    • @Brad Casper cool fact bro, didnt ask tho

    • @Gil las yeah thats why!

    • @Gil las donate me one

  • Gosh, the efforts to the making of this. Your videos are really applaudable and inspiring. Keep it up!

  • Lovely piece of work! I hope you never have to have any repairs done under warranty, though.

  • I really love this Channel and I hope we will continue to see many other spectacular projects of this Channel for a long time!

  • I would love to see fusing three LED panels together as one :D always dreamt about it but I am highly aware of my skill limitation to doing it on my own.

  • This went from feeling mass produced, to feeling brass produced.

  • That was a great show I was in to it right from the beginning and I thought it was absolutely a work of art that you had created

  • That is simply stunning, so impressed by your projects. Extremely talented!

  • I like this one a lot. Maybe I would have tried brushing the center strip, instead of polishing it, to keep a little contrast. The all-polished look is a bit too uniform. Great job as always, btw!

  • Amazing finish! How does it cope with heat from gaming/ streaming media? Either way bravo

  • Matt, you're taking brass to a whole new level. Soldering those stand-offs on to mount the side panels was brilliant. Keep killing it! - Brad

  • Great work, it looks amazing!👌 The only bad thing is that to keep it that shiny will almost be a full time job!!😉

  • As a plastics engineer I work in the high performance polymers (plastics) sector and yes while glass and metal does seem like more high quality materials, what Sony and other console manufacturers use, is just the cheapest lowest quality plastic material there is on the market. If they would use high quality plastic materials which are used by Mercedes in automotive interior or expensive sun glasses for instance, consoles would look and feel much more valuable and be way more scratch resistant and durable. But man, your brass modification really looks stunning.

  • I want to be this optimistic and driven about my projects.

  • I love it that he showed his mistakes, along with the final. Many wouldn't do that.

  • I've loved literally every project you've ever done, but this is just INCREDIBLE. Job well done man!

  • The teardown skin looks dope!, can wait to see the inside for real

  • It looks so cool! Though it does lack the contrast that the original had with black and white, maybe if the center piece had the brushed look instead it would make the sides pop even more? Just personal preference really. Great job though!!

  • I did similar with mine, I just removed the face plates and sprayed them gold. Cost £10 looks amazing with the piano black centre.

  • while I do really like it as it is. I think swapping the middle plate to some other kind of metal like copper or aluminum would make it stand out even more.

  • Literally the best recommendation the ILaward algorithm has ever given to me, this guy’s video production and skill is incredible!

    • Yaaah bruh, ILaward algorithm usually blows. Fund this guy like a week a go, and I agree, this is the best

    • Same xD

    • it's called "building an invisible pc"

    • yooo watch his pc table video it's really good

  • Hey Matt, your videos are world changing! You inspire me a lot!

  • I am very much into PC, but I have to admit. You really make me want to put this in my living room right next to my rig. It's almost like art and I just so happened to go with a PC case made out of mirrored tempered glass. Phew. You're making me sweat.

  • Thank you for the great content :) Does it overheat with this material more than with the plastic?

    • Unlikely. Brass conducts heat better than plastic, and the PS5 mainly relies on airflow.

  • That looks magnificent, everything you make looks magnificent. A truly talented man

  • The most impressive part of this video is that you actually managed to get a ps5

  • And here's me thinking the ps5 couldn't get any better. Diy perks you are amazing. Your work is always quality

  • would love to see a wooden casing for the ps5.

  • Love the idea, Im going give this a try just copper instead of brass tho, id wish you showed bit more on the pegs on side attachments.. As its bit hard to see what exactly you've done,i dont realy want to do something ill regret. Might try an English wheel to get the bends i need, bur it will be a long-term project..

  • You absolute mad man genius, this looks incredible, far beyond the plastic router style of the original.

  • Sony should hire you to build these brass PS5 to sell as a limited edition consoles to commemorate certain sales milestones.

    • every PlayStation in already a limited edition coz we can't get them

    • @bisbbis GOATED COMMENT 💀

    • Sony would sue him first, threaten him with lawsuit , to take down the video then later copyright the concept and sell it themselves.

    • Yes and the cost would be $2,500

    • @The God himself Sony wouldn’t make one. Just the fact it’s already hard enough for people to get one. And that’s an extra employee/machine they will need to spend on. Just my opinion

  • I was wondering what would happen if you replaced all the inner components in a smartphone from copper to gold. Sometimes you see these expensive gold-covered phones, but you never see anyone actually replace inner components with gold

    • Gold is not as good a conductor as copper, so internals should stay copper.

  • That does loom spectacular! Excellent project and well done on the completed aesthetic. 👏🏾 Question: Does the brass have any impact on the consoles heat management?

    • I'd say I dispenses heat more effectively being copper

  • IT looks beautiful. Your hard work payed off, Well done!

  • Does aluminum or some other silver metal polish up nearly as well? My idea would be to have the center part made out of that, for a nice gold/silver contrast.

  • I'm curious to see how this would look in a few months, the brass is going to patina over time. It might look even better!

    • It would look pretty indeed. But the problem is, carrying it would make your hands dirty or whatever its contained in

    • @Matthew Reynolds Thought that too, put when you think about it, you really have no need to touch it. If you want to press the startup button you can use a pen to press it.

    • I'd go insane if I had this, from all the lil fingerprints thatd end up all over it.

    • He can gold plate it

    • that is exactly what i think about

  • Absolutelt stunning!! i know what id like to do with mine if i ever actually get my hands on one..theres a lot of xbox series s out there maybe you could do the same but maybe get some design etched in one side??

  • This is absolutely a work of art. You sir are brilliant!!!

  • Bro,this is absolutely mind blowing 🔥.i didn't get any word to say.this is all about your hardwork. keep going. 👍👍

  • I wonder how the brass allows for cooling? Will metal reduce the PS5s ability to cool.

  • Let's be honest, the hardest part of this build is actually finding one in stock.

    • @Mohammed Allali i don't have a monopoly or even close. what's being discussed is supply and demand. i don't have a bot, i just put the effort in to place an order when i can. the last guy i sold to was 100% aware what i paid, i forwarded him the receipt so he could register it or make a return if needed. he drove a 7 series bmw and said the extra $275 was completely worth it. some people don't wanna put in the work to check when they drop, have two tablets, 3 phones, and a computer set up to place an order as soon as it comes in and then click all of them as fast as possible. i don't have much success even then, like 1 in 10 drops i get through, and that's just the ones i attempt, and mostly just the walmart ones. give it a try after hours. you can do it now that the Xmas rush is over and the "I'll get you one when I can" rush is dying down. I'd recommend selling a couple once you realize how easy it is. plus it's totally non essential, there isn't even a flagship game that you can't play on ps4 Edit: i don't order after hours, last one was at like 7pm eastern 4 pacific.

    • @TheRealDescartes true. the only upside i have found is when i play overwatch, I'm first to pick a character. that's it.

    • @Mohammed Allali making a 50% profit on a sale is pretty good. and i have a home. i honestly can't believe they are still selling like they are.

    • Pretty much

    • @Gejamugam Latsoomanam i have a gaming pc i bought locally NZXT case and water cooling, Ryzen 5600x, All the good shit. And rtx 3060ti was available here before its global release. i don't need your approval

  • I would like to see a perforated panel version, it turns out that the panels restrict air flow so much that some of the components heat up quite a lot.

  • Wow that looks so elegant! Imagine what it looks like with the side trim LED's in the dark!?!

  • Love the result absolutely fantastic i would love my ps 4 done in brass but not very confident

  • Man there are no limits to your creativity... Always surprising n refreshing to see your videos... Thanks for d beautiful videos😊

  • I love it that you included the messed up parts, makes the process SOO much more relatable. Please always do that going forward, whenever possible.

  • How is your brass PS5 holding up after 9 months? Is it still shiny and beautiful?

  • It kinda looks like a trophy now, which you can play games on as well. Makes you feel like a winner every time you start it up. Amazing.

  • This looks really beautiful. But I was wondering, would you build a xbox series x high quality version? Cause I woud like to see that also. But the ps5 looks fantastic even though I dont have ps but have xbox, I still respect ps 👍

  • That has got to be in the top 3 best things you have built its beautiful

  • You know a channel is god-tier quality when you don't even skip the sponsored part.

    • lol, scrubbed past it and was like hey wait that looks interesting.

    • I never not skipped that part its a reflex

    • His voice is actually really good too so even if one doesn't like the adds I enjoy how he talks and express himself, wish my voice was as nice

    • speak for yourself mate :)

    • SAAAAME, I use sponsor block, and I white listed the channel

  • I was a bit skeptical at first, but when I saw the finished product. Just wow, that looks stunning.

  • Great, is it any faster or can hold larger storage?

  • Looks nice, but it would be way easier and cheaper to apply chrome-gold vinyl instead, and improve the cooling instead. Nice job tho! :)

  • This is a very beautiful console, however, I'm quite concerned about the heat dissipation as the metal might take a bit of time to cool as compared to plastic. This may result in the reheating of the console.

  • I love how he explains how he does everything, like we're gonna do this

    • Exactly

    • Well, DIY it's in the channel's name

    • You guys don't recreate everything you see on youtube tutorials?!

    • @Ben PCS the most crazy thing is that my Asus 3080 ti can demolish any ps5 even a brass ps5

    • @Ben PCS Correction. He has two. Check the other video. It doesn't even look like a PS5.

  • You are an amazing craftsman and a pleasure to listen to . Explain everything so well.

  • 1. Absolutely amazing work, wow! 2. Could the wifi stay inside if you either only refine the white side pandels or the black middle panel, what do you think. 3. Oh my god, is there any chance to get hold of these party, because I would never be able to do this myself. Thanks a lot!

  • This is so awesome 😍 thanks for sharing and your quality time to make this for us to see. All class

  • Would love to see mine like this. Would you ever consider being paid to do this to someone else's console?
